On May 16, Križ once again welcomed numerous craft beer enthusiasts, runners, and visitors looking for a great time at Krigl Fest. One of the highlights of the festival was the Križ Beer Mile – a unique race that successfully combines sport, socializing, and beer culture.

The Križ Beer Mile was held as part of Krigl Fest, a craft beer, grill, and rock festival traditionally hosted by the Municipality of Križ. The event brings together Croatian craft breweries, beer lovers, and everyone seeking a great atmosphere, live music, and good company. While visitors enjoyed a rich selection of craft beers, competitors on the course demonstrated how fun and recreation can come together to create an unforgettable experience.

This year’s race was organized by Run Croatia and formed part of the public health campaign “Hunting the Silent Killer”, conducted by the Croatian Hypertension League. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of preventing and detecting high blood pressure at an early stage, while promoting healthy lifestyles and regular health check-ups. Visitors and participants had the opportunity to learn more about cardiovascular disease risk factors and the importance of preventive healthcare.

A large number of participants and visitors confirmed that this unique concept has earned a special place on Croatia’s craft beer and recreational sports scene. In addition to the race itself, visitors enjoyed craft beer presentations, entertainment programs, beer-themed games, and a diverse gastronomic offer.

The atmosphere was further enhanced by performances from DJ Matyma and the rock band Reanimatori, whose energy and music contributed to the festival experience.

Once again, Krigl Fest and the Križ Beer Mile demonstrated how community spirit, sport, entertainment, and a responsible approach to health can come together to create an event that brings people of all generations together.
