On Monday, 29 September 2025, on the occasion of World Heart Day, a major public health event entitled “Hunt for the Silent Killer” will take place.
It is organized by the Croatian Society for Hypertension in cooperation with the Croatian Cardiac Society and other national partner societies, and for the first time in Croatia, in collaboration with the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH).
By joining this initiative, these European organizations are showing their support and recognition of the Hunt for the Silent Killer campaign and its long-standing success, which has become a model beyond Croatia for its persistent efforts in raising health literacy and promoting public health.
As with the broader campaign, this event is dedicated to raising awareness not only about the main “silent killer” – arterial hypertension (i.e. high blood pressure) – but also about insidious cholesterol, well-known diabetes, and obesity – all true "demons" of health. While we promote this awareness every day, on World Heart Day we aim to emphasize it once again.
From 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, you can take part in a variety of activities:
● Free blood pressure measurements, including detection of heart rhythm disorders, as well as cholesterol and blood sugar testing
● Electrocardiogram (ECG) screening
● Individual health consultations
● Educational materials and practical advice for the prevention of cardio-renal-neuro-metabolic diseases
We especially highlight that various health experts will be available to answer your questions and offer useful recommendations.
The program will also be enriched by a short live performance by young blues singer-songwriter Mr. Odin Sokač, one of the ambassadors of the Croatian Society for Hypertension and the Hunt for the Silent Killer campaign.
See you at European Square!
