Lp(a) is hereditary. Be consistent.
The Croatian Hypertension League is launching a campaign aimed at raising awareness about the importance of timely detection of elevated lipoprotein(a) levels and active management of cardiovascular risk.
Three individuals with the highest measured Lp(a) values will be granted a one-year expert monitoring program, including multidisciplinary support from physicians, nutritionists, and kinesiologists, with the aim of optimizing the management of cardiovascular risk factors.
Lp(a) is a genetically determined risk factor that often remains unrecognized, yet can significantly contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Timely testing enables a better understanding of individual risk and supports informed decision-making regarding further care.
All those who wish to check their Lp(a) levels are invited to get tested and apply via the application form.
Applications are open from March 19, and the results will be announced on April 19, 2026.
Participants will be selected according to the following categories:
– individuals with a history of cardiovascular events (e.g. myocardial infarction)
– individuals without prior cardiovascular events
– individuals under 40 years of age
The aim of the campaign is to encourage timely identification of elevated Lp(a) levels and to emphasize the importance of a continuous, structured approach to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
